At first glance, the stop in Neratovice might seem uninteresting, but the opposite is true. Don’t be intimidated by the large industrial background of industrial enterprises and set out to explore the city, which offers you many interesting services. From swimming pools and sports facilities, where you can stretch your legs after a long paddling session, to tempting restaurants. You can get ashore via the public pier built by the city itself.
How do things work around here
The Neratovice public mooring site is open to the public and offers free short-term mooring. It is 10 metres long, so it should be able to accommodate at least two recreational boats. Although they don’t offer additional services here, such as charging stations for your boat, the options provided by the city itself are well worth it.
What’s nearby
As soon as you step off the boat, you’ll run into fishermen, because this is a non-trout fishing area. If you’re more in the mood for a swim in the Elbe, about 250 metres upstream you’ll find a sandy city beach complete with a public barbecue area, picnic tables, and a playground featuring a ship-shaped climbing frame. If you’re travelling with children, you’re guaranteed to have a wonderful time here.
For those who are a bit picky when it comes to choosing places to swim, there are plenty of options here. Just a short walk from the city beach, you’ll find an outdoor municipal swimming pool, with a mini-golf course, sports complex, and summer movie theatre right next door, and even an indoor municipal pool behind the athletic stadium.
Where to eat well
Right next to the mooring place, you’ll find the Terasa restaurant, which has a pleasant outdoor seating area. If you’re looking for something a bit more upscale, perhaps for a nice dinner, you definitely shouldn’t miss the Aroma Restaurant, which will charm you with its old mill setting and, above all, the high quality of its food.
