Forget about the boring sand strip. In Ždán, every beach has its own story, and you can hop from one to the next as if jumping between dimensions. Instead of the Stargate, you’ll use your own bike, a sailboat, or the regular ferry service from Slapy to get to this peninsula. Don’t forget! Swimsuits are a must – without one, you’re in for more embarrassment than if your bikini top were to float away.
Dimension 1: A family business by the harbour
You plop down on the grass, and just a short distance away, little builders will construct a sandcastle metropolis over the course of the day. You also have a trampoline, pedal boats, a paddleboard, and mini boats right at your fingertips. The snack bar here serves grilled meat and cocktails. You can enjoy both while taking in the spectacular view of sailboats and sleek motorboats. And the kids? Happier than at Disneyland.
Dimension 2: A fleet of captains at the Půjčovna Slapy (Slapy Rental Shop)
Are you choosing between a rubber dinghy, a cabin boat, a pedal boat, or a motorboat? The local branch of Půjčovna Slapy will let you rent most of these boats without requiring a boating license. But for a few larger ones, you’ll need to show your VMP license. So there’s something for everyone here, from unlicensed pirates to official captains in shorts. The buoys on the surface mark the safety zone, so don’t go too far beyond them, or the water and boats will quickly bring you back to reality. Once you’ve rented your equipment, head over to the stand for a classic Czech beer and sausage – you’ll have a clear view of your towel from there.
It’s like a summer microcosm here. The kiosk smells of lime, and when the trampoline picks up the rhythm, the kids fly through the air. Meanwhile, the water just lazes about. The perfect hideaway from the world – no drama, no lines, no plans. Just you, the water, and maybe an ice-pop.
Your headquarters in the multiverse? Modrá loděnice, Autokemp Ždáň, or the luxurious Tiché místo Glamping and Glamping Slapy. That is, if you decide to spend a few more days here. If you’re only going for a day, you’re better off leaving your car at home. No-stopping zones and private property signs are everywhere here. And parking tickets waiting in the wings. But do you really have to? For a tip, you can park your car at the Autokemp Ždáň camp-ground.
