Does wakeboarding seem like a cool sport to you, but you have always been a little apprehensive about trying it out for yourself? So don’t be lazy and go to Probošták to Wake Port. They have 3 cables for water skiing and wakeboarding. You’ll love the fact that there’s a beginner’s cable among them. There’s nothing to worry about – an experienced operator will explain the correct driving technique and, thanks to a simple lever, can control the speed of the cable. It may cost you a few falls, but it’s a soft one, and the feeling when you first get on your feet is definitely worth the effort.
You’ll have no shortage of motivation. Just looking at the large 5-column circular cable with all sorts of obstacles will make your jaw drop. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the greatest masters in the field jumping over obstacles and showing off their best tricks. To check it all out first, head to the promenade pier, where you’ll get a real look at how it’s done and how it should be done. You see yourself there yet? You see! Maybe one day you’ll be one of those cruelly strict jumpers.
You won’t find better wakeboarding facilities
Even the arrival to the premises is unmistakable. You can arrive in style by boat and moor at the visitor pier, or use the car park right outside the main building. You can arrange at the reception how long you’ll be riding. The local equipment rental will come in handy, so don’t buy anything to start with, they’ll lend you everything here.
And if you’ve done your ride, you can chill on the shore. Beach chairs and a local bar are available. And if that’s not even enough for you, get in your swimsuit! Swimming on the local sandy beach will guarantee you a relaxing afternoon or even a whole day. What about a floating sauna? You might as well check in now, right? That’s not a problem either! The neighbouring camp site with all facilities ensures this as well.
And where else in the area?
The Probošťská jezera lakes are connected by water to the Elbe River. Take advantage of this and combine your trip to Wake Port with a boat trip. If you prefer to really work hard on your own power, rent a paddleboard and sail to Brandejs, for example. You can disembark at the beach on Ostrůvek (the Islet), where refreshments are also waiting for you. A little further away, Ostrůvek offers a nice view of the water slalom channel, and there is also a rarity hidden here – surf wave. You just have to see it and maybe even experience it.
So don’t forget to take your bike with you and enjoy a relaxing ride along the Elbe trail. Be sure to find time to visit the town of Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav itself, which has a lot to offer. Check out the local castle and have a delicious meal. It doesn’t hurt to pedal a few extra kilometres and ride a little further along the Elbe. Or go to Prague? It’s right within your reach, only 15 kilometres away. You can do it, so go for it!
