Water skiing = great fun
It’s quite common to go skiing in the winter, but have you ever tried skiing in the summer? Water skiing is not only a privilege of seaside resorts, you can go skiing here too – just a few kilometres south of Prague in the small town of Davle.
How to get there? The bus will stop right in front of the marina. You take a little walk off the train. But don’t worry, it’s just across the river. You can also arrive by your own car, which you can park in front of the marina in Nábřežní Street or in the parking lot in front of the local supermarket.
The wide bed of the Vltava River offers good conditions for water sports, and the Davle Marina is well equipped for this. Come and experience something unusual, feel some adrenaline and discover the treasures hidden in the surrounding landscape.
Davle Marina will provide everything
Davle Marina rents all necessary equipment for water skiing. Change into a wetsuit and a life jacket and indulge in adrenaline-pumping water adventures. You will board a motorboat that will take you and your companion to the neighbouring town of Měchenice. There is a designated water area for water sports, specially designed for water skiing. There are not many similar areas for legal water skiing elsewhere in Central Bohemia.
Just jump into the water and go ahead! A fast boat driven by an experienced captain will pull you along on a rope. With increasing speed you gradually rise over the water surface and then it’s up to you. Show off and have fun!
Water skis or wake-board?
Not a skier, but a proud snowboarder? The Davle Marina has everyone in mind – in addition to skis, it also rents waterboards or wakeboards. The principle is the same, in both cases you will be towed by rope behind a fast boat, only on a wake-board you have to keep your stance sideways, which can be a bit more challenging than with skis, especially when getting up from the water surface.
Look around
Water sports can be exhausting, so relax in one of the local restaurants or cafés. You shouldn’t miss the thematic museum focused on life around water – Museum Vltavanu Davle.
Still not exhausted? Then go out into the surroundings. There are lots of interesting routes for both walkers and bikers.
