An island of fun on the banks of the Berounka River
Leave the car at home and head to an island of fun on the water. Combine a visit to the Beroun aquapark with a boating trip, which will crown your experience. Or you can be a killjoy and take a train or a bus. The aquapark is located on an island on the banks of the Berounka River, and it is not difficult to get there. But leaving the aquapark and going home won‘t be so easy.
The 25-metre swimming pool is the basis for satisfying the needs of all sportsmen. But if you’re a bit lazy, you’ll prefer the relaxing pools with massage beds, water seats, fountains, jets and a wave cave. Just imagine your muscles softening in a warm whirlpool, the tyre around your stomach melting in a steam cabin and your skin turning brown on a sun terrace. Isn’t that great? In addition there is a wellness floor with Finnish saunas, a gym, spinning, massage and solarium.
You can get a reasonable level of adrenaline on the outdoor and indoor water slides, and the double slide. Don’t forget to hold your breath on impact so you don’t flush your pipes with chlorine. For the little ones there is a paddling pool with a slide, water mushroom and water spout.
The aquapark also has its own outdoor ‘Mini-Me’ version, which can be found at the Eden Sports Centre on the outskirts of the suburb called Plzeňské předměstí.
You’re gonna have to get out of the water one day or you’ll melt in it. Yet the day isn’t over, so why not go explore the city? The closest is the main square with the Museum of the Czech Karst and Plzeň Gate. Around the square you’ll find plenty of dining options to fill your hungry stomach. And also the Museum of Ceramics, where you can try to make a masterpiece out of clay. Do you have any strength left? Climb the town mountain with its lookout tower and bear farm and say hello to the furry ones the older ones among us remember from Večerníček (little bed time story on tv).
