And you can come for a boat trip
The sightseeing Kralupy boat starts its cruises from Marina Vltava in Nelahozeves. You can come right in, because they have water parking for up to 30 small boats. But if you don’t have a cockleshell, take a train or a bus. The bus stop is about 500 metres from the marina. Plus, this isn’t just any stop. There is a tourist information centre right at the train station where you can get lots of inspiration and other tips for trips.

If you can’t get enough of your four-wheeled sweetheart, they’ve got a place for it too. You’ll find parking right on the marina premises, so it will be taken care of. If you‘re not going at the last minute and have time, pop into a local restaurant. In addition to refreshments and coffee in the garden, you can also enjoy views of the river that you just don’t see everywhere.
What to look for and when to board
You will cruise on the Kralupy boat for an hour on the Vltava River. During the boat trip you will enjoy views of Nelahozeves Château, Miřejovice lock, the town of Kralupy and the surrounding countryside. All this from a water perspective, so the idyll is perfect.
It would be a shame if more of you didn’t enjoy it, so you need at least five adults or the boat’s coffers need to be filled to at least 850 bucks. The boat can accommodate up to 12 sailors, who the boat takes on sightseeing cruises regularly from Wednesday to Sunday. But call the captain beforehand so you can all write it down in the logbook. When you get tired of the views of the landscape, you can peek through the window directly at the captain and his captain’s console. And if you also want to take the helm, you can at least take a picture of yourself at the wheel, even with a hat like a proper captain. They also think about the little ones who arrive in strollers, so no problem. Plus, they’re dog friendly, so even let your furry ones enjoy.
Who would walk on a bridge when you can walk on water!
If the Kralupy boat is not circling with sailors, it runs back and forth as a ferry on demand between the marina and the other bank, or it can take you all the way to Kralupy nad Vltavou.
Are you so seduced by this beauty that it should be all yours? It can be! Make arrangements with the captain and the boat will sail with just your group, school trip, class or your office staff.
Discovering the harbour of other possibilities
The boat trip is just the beginning and the destination may be at the end of the journey! Continue your enjoyment on land and explore the entire marina, where you’ll be mesmerised by the anchoring beauties. If you haven’t had time before the boat trip, head to a local restaurant where you’ll not only have the anchored boats but also the passing boats in front of your eyes. The children’s playground belonging to the whole complex will not only be appreciated by children, but also by you when you want to enjoy a coffee and something else to eat. If you liked it so much you didn’t want to leave, you don’t have to! There are several ways to spend the night, so you can enjoy yourself until the cows come home!!
In the surroundings, head to Nelahozeves Château and Antonín Dvořák’s birthplace. You can also walk to Kralupy from here, following the Dvořák trail. For fans of the wind in their hair and hands on the handlebars, the Vltava cycle path passes through here, which will take you to Veltrusy Château, to Mělník, or will lead you to Prague.
